April Mandalas

Yesterday was an absolutely wonderful day with this lovely & very talented group! It was an absolute pleasure to take them through my Mandala Painting process & to talk all things art, art materials, workshops, etc with them.

Little did I know when Wendy booked the group in that they would have decades of combined art experience (including teaching by Wendy & Elaine) amongst them… but all the better for my nerves #nopressure ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was so great to connect with this friendly group, & although it may have been our first workshop together, it won’t be the last as I look forward to getting to some of Wendy’s workshops / courses, including what sounds like an amazing weekend retreat next year ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒฟ

A special thank you again to Wendy for organising the group, and to my friends @ Portfolio Picture Framers for again donating a voucher to each participant to use to frame their masterpiece ๐Ÿ’–

If you would love to attend any of my Mandala Painting Workshops, please see my calendar of events. I have 3 places that have become available in my next full day workshop on the 5th of May, & 2 left for the 9th of June ๐Ÿ’›

The power of art

How do you calm your mind?

For me, creating my first Mandala & giving myself space, guided me further on my path to unlocking my soulโ€™s purpose โœจ

Before that, I hadnโ€™t given any thought or time or space for art & itโ€™s form of creative meditation.

Art is so powerful. We canโ€™t underestimate the power of creating, big or small.

Art brings to the forefront our truest selves, our deepest thoughts, feelings & fears.

The process of creating art is truly transformational, in the depths of the calm mind one can truly discover their soulโ€™s purpose.

Art has the great ability to calm & focus the mind.

Giving yourself the space to create is the greatest gift ๐Ÿ’›

When was the last time you gave yourself the space to create?

When was the last time you did some art?

How could doing some art help you?

Iโ€™m so glad I said yes to the experience with my bestie, & conquered my fears & self doubt, because the experience of creating my first Mandala & immersing myself in art has changed my world โœจ

If you would love to give yourself a creative outlet, I have spots available in my upcoming Mandala Painting Workshops, why not get your friends together & make a day of it?

If something โ€˜artyโ€™ sparks your interest, I encourage you to give it a go! Your soul is giving you a hint to get creative & the benefits are endless ๐Ÿ’–

Home

What happens when we delve into the depths of despair?

When we truly acknowledge what is going on, in and around us?

When we honour our feelings, accept them and make peace with them?

What happens when we stop running, stop blocking, stop hiding, and we confront our feelings, and the darkness that lurks in the shadows?

When we switch off from the busyness of life, and we unplug and plug into ourselves and what we are experiencing, what we are going through?

Do you know?

Have you allowed yourself the freedom to explore whatโ€™s within?

To stop masking and hiding, and to get comfortable with your emotions?

To ask yourself what you really need?

What may be lacking? What needs healing? What you need support with?

Give yourself the space and time to regularly check in with yourself.

Ask yourself how you feel? What you could change? Who you could ask for support? Who you could turn to?

Place your hand on your heart and ask her what she might need, and if she feels loved?

So much healing can take place when we turn within and spend time speaking to ourselves.

Getting to know every part.

Remembering that this is home.

The place that we need to visit more often.

The place that offers us comfort, familiarity, and love.

Come back to self.

Come home.

Take this all in & take note of how it makes you feel. What is it bringing up for you?

Marvellous Mandalas

Last night, I held the final session for my January Mandala Painting Evening Series ๐Ÿ’›

Once again, the process & the results amazed us all, & I am so proud of these 2 for committing to this time for themselves & trying something new! Such beautiful masterpieces with beautiful stories ๐Ÿ’™

I love my Evening Series as it means that the group have some creative relaxation time out each week for 4 weeks, it offers flexibility for those who may not be able to leave their little ones for a full day, it allows the group (& myself โ˜บ๏ธ) to connect over 4 evenings over the 4 weeks, & I love seeing the surprise on their faces when they come back each week & remember the amazing progress they made the week before ๐Ÿ˜

If you would like to join a group, or to come along with a bunch of friends, my next Evening Series options are below, & I would love to take you on this creative journey ๐ŸŽจ

Shedding

Just as trees shed their leaves, & some insects shed their skin, so too do we go through phases where we need to shed in order to grow.

And it is okay to shed.

Letting go of what no longer serves us is how we learn & evolve.

Letting go of ideas, ideals, relationships, things, ways of thinking, beliefs, is how we make way for the new. How we grow & change. How we are challenged to become more resilient.

It is okay to shed your ‘old skin’ in order to become more aligned with who you truly are & where you want to be. With more of what sets your soul on fire.

Shedding our leaves is what makes way for new growth.

Seasons change, & things change. Just like Mother Nature, we too need to adapt & shed to flourish.

Don’t be afraid to shed what is no longer in alignment for you.

It is your time to blossom ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’–

Creating space

Last night, I was reflecting on the beautiful spaces I have, how they came about, & what inspired them.

They didnโ€™t just come out of the blue, in fact, my painting room would seem it was 4 years in the making, but they both started from creating space for the things I have come to love.

Back when setting up our home & nesting whilst due with our firstborn, I wanted to create a relaxation haven in our then theatre room. I had just had an amazing pregnancy massage at the beautiful at endota day spa, a place that hubby & would treat ourselves to on special occasions back in our Melbourne days, & so I was inspired to recreate the feeling of being there, opting for a shade of Endota green on the walls. The room then changed as it became an office space for hubby’s business, but after having set up a painting corner for me in a spare room, we soon realised that this was only the start, & that my relaxation haven that I had created all those years ago would be the perfect space to share my love of painting mandalas with others ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’›

Before finding my passion for painting, I found my passion for writing. I decided I wanted to create a beautiful space to further inspire my writings so I set up a corner in our bedroom, bought a desk & a chair, & decorated it to make it my own. Again, after creating space for something I loved, that space evolved as I revisited my Reiki practice at Angel Light Heart and Soul Healing, & we decided to convert our study (which was our much loved dressing room) into a Reiki room / writing space / meditation space, initially for personal use, but now for much more โœจ

In doing all these things, in making all these changes, I didn’t knowingly set out to create a room to now be seeing clients for relaxing Reiki / Intuitive Coaching sessions.

I didn’t set out to create a space to be running soulful Mandala Painting Workshops.

It started with a little corner in a room or 2.

It started with being inspired by a place I visited.

It started with recreating a feeling I wanted to feel.

It started with creating space for the things that set my soul on fire.

It doesn’t have to be big, you just need to make space ๐Ÿ’›

How can you create a little space for something you love?

A sewing corner, perhaps?

Or a reading nook?

You never know what journey that little space could take you on โœจ
